Electrical Design Engineer – R&D
Define and evolve the electrical architecture of GOAT’s AMR platforms — power distribution, control and interface boards, and safety subsystems that stay robust in dynamic industrial conditions.
- Team
- Research & Development
- Location
- Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
- Type
- Full-time
- Experience
- 3–8 years
What you’ll do
- Define and evolve the electrical system architecture across our AMR platforms, including power distribution, control and interface boards.
- Design schematics and multi-layer PCBs for power electronics, motor interfaces, sensor integration and safety subsystems.
- Work with high-current battery systems, DC-DC converters, protection circuitry, grounding architecture and fault-isolation strategies.
- Prototype and validate hands-on: load testing, EMI diagnostics, thermal analysis and system-level debugging with oscilloscopes and power analysers.
- Collaborate with embedded engineers on reliable CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI and other industrial protocols.
- Contribute to cable harness architecture and connector strategy for durability, serviceability and manufacturability.
- Evaluate emerging components, battery technologies, safety architectures and power modules for future platforms.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3–8 years of electrical system design in robotics, EV systems, industrial automation, embedded hardware or related fields.
- Strong schematic design and PCB layout experience for complex multi-board systems.
- Solid understanding of power electronics, grounding, EMI/EMC and high-current battery-powered systems.
- Hands-on debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters and power test equipment.
- Experience with industrial interfaces such as CAN, RS485 or Ethernet.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve system-level integration issues in real hardware.
