Overview
GT-XT is a high-performance autonomous tow robot for moving trailers, carts and heavy loads across industrial facilities. With robust towing capability and simple trailer attachment, it automates repetitive towing tasks in in-plant and logistics transport workflows.
- Indoor and outdoor operation
- Tows up to 2,000 kg of carts; carries up to 1,000 kg
- 120 mm ground clearance and an 800 mm turning radius
- Single or multi-cart hitching; automated hitching optional
Why GT-XT
- Built for tugging, not lifting
- GT-XT is engineered to tow trains of carts — ideal where materials move in batches over long distances, without the complexity or cost of lift-based AMRs.
- High throughput, lower cost per move
- Towing multiple carts per trip significantly reduces travel cycles, operator dependency and per-unit transport cost compared with manual tuggers or forklifts.
- Infrastructure-free autonomy
- SLAM navigation runs without magnetic tape, QR codes or fixed paths, so routes change as quickly as layouts do.
- Safe human-robot co-existence
- Advanced sensing and controlled acceleration give smooth starts, safe braking and reliable obstacle detection on shared shop floors.

Frequently asked questions
What payload can the GT-XT carry?
The GT-XT is rated for 1,000 kg and tows trains of carts beyond its own payload.
How fast is the GT-XT and how long does it run?
Maximum speed is 1 m/s, with about 8 hours of runtime per charge and a 4-hour charge. Actual figures depend on payload, floor conditions and duty cycle. Autonomous docking lets the robot charge itself between tasks.
Does the GT-XT need tape, magnets or QR codes on the floor?
No. The GT-XT navigates autonomously with SLAM and visual localisation, using the building’s existing features. A guided mode that follows magnetic strip or QR codes is also available where a fixed path is preferred.
What aisle width does the GT-XT need?
The minimum aisle width is 1,200 mm. 800 mm turning radius. The robot measures 1,275 × 800 × 1,900 mm.
Can the GT-XT work with our ERP, MES or WMS?
Yes. GT Studio, GOAT’s fleet management platform, integrates with ERP, MES, WMS and PLCs through APIs, webhooks and industrial protocols, and supports VDA 5050 v2.0, v2.1 and v3.0 for mixed fleets.
What is the GT-XT used for?
Typical applications: assembly line supply (line-side logistics); warehouse tugger trains; WIP movement across departments; indoor-outdoor transfers between buildings. It is a tow / tugger robot designed and manufactured by GOAT Robotics in India.
